Chairperson’s Message

Dear Armenia Fund Supporter,

I write to you today to express my profound gratitude for your participation in last year’s Armenia Fund Telethon. Thanks to your generous donation, 26,880 residents of Artsakh received round-the-clock supply of fresh, clean drinking water in their households.
This is a tangible, real accomplishment that changed the lives of 26,880 people for the better. Additionally, 33,210 acres of land are being irrigated allowing people in Artsakh to grow fruits, vegetables and grains as well as keep livestock.

ON BEHALF OF THESE 26,880 ARTSAKH PEOPLE, I THANK YOU!

These tremendous results became possible by pulling together the resources of nearly 100,000 Armenian families residing in 30 countries around the globe from the United States to Argentina, France to Russia, and Lebanon to Australia, and participate annually in Armenia Fund’s Telethon. The words of Armenian poet Yeghishe Charents come to my mind: “Oh, Armenian people, your only salvation is in your own united strength”.

As you might already know, this year the International Board of Trustees of Armenia Fund decided to continue the Water Project for the year 2011 as well. The goal is to raise enough funds during the upcoming ARMENIA FUND TELETHON 2011 to bring water to the 34,000 residents of Artsakh who still do not have it today. This is a very realistic goal that is within our reach.

I call on you today to make A Gift of Water, A Gift of Life. To ensure that every resident of Artsakh has a reliable access to fresh drinking water in their household, by making a tax-deductible donation to Armenia Fund’s Telethon 2011, using the enclosed pre-paid envelope.
Please keep in mind that giving water is not a hand out, but rather a very powerful tool for agricultural development, self reliance and self sustainability.

I thank you in advance for your generosity and care.

Sincerely,
Ara Aghishian, Esq.
