For the second consecutive year, Markers of Tomorrow, a project started by a group of young Armenian-Americans in Los Angeles, has donated school supplies to schoolchildren in Armenia and Artsakh, just prior to the start of the new academic year. From August 21 to 25, Markers of Tomorrow representatives delivered various school supplies, stationery, as well as sports equipment including soccer balls and sets of tennis, ping-pong, badminton, and chess to the 1,800 students of six schools in Armenia’s Tavush Region. In addition, all classrooms at the school of the village of Haghtanak have been provided with high-quality blackboards made in Armenia. In the past two years, Markers of Tomorrow has donated supplies to more than 4,300 students in border communities of Armenia and Artsakh.
“Throughout the year, we’ve organized several fundraising events, during which Los Angeles Armenians have made generous donations, recognizing the crucial importance of supporting border villages in Armenia and Artsakh, “ said Markers of Tomorrow project coordinator Azatuhi Karaoglanyan and continued, “We thank all of our donors, as well as the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund for its support. “
For the past several years, all participants of Markers of Tomorrow have volunteered at the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s annual Thanksgiving Day Telethon in Los Angeles.
