Message from the Chairperson
Maria Mehranian
Dear Supporters and Friends,

The recent weeks and months have been quite difficult for all of us. The growing uncertainties in financial markets across the globe have left their long term impact from the U.S.A. to Europe and, of course, Armenia.
While we, in the United States, anxiously observe our savings and retirement accounts, people living in Armenia’s and Karabakh’s remote villages still lack access to clean water, healthcare, and basic staples of life. This leaves us with a moral obligation to continue donating to Armenia Fund and delivering hope to many whose lives lack the basic fundamentals of human dignity.
As a fledgling republic, Armenia remains extremely vulnerable to regional and financial instabilities as a result of geopolitical problems. Crisis in Georgia was a vivid example of that. We can help Armenia by investing in its future and making our Homeland a safe, viable place. Please join us on November 27, 2008, at the Armenia Fund’s 11th International Telethon, in strengthening Armenia and delivering hope to many children living in the borderline communities. They need us and we will be there for them.
Sincerely,
Maria Mehranian
Chairperson
